Support anti-corrosion method

1. Overview

The support anti-corrosion method aims to improve weather resistance of steel supports in which deterioration has been observed by blasting away the rusted areas and either coating it or building a form around the support and filling it in with a corrosion-proof material.

While it is common to replace steel supports with rubber supports, there are cases where the zinc-aluminum thermal spray method is used to extend the lifespan/improve the durability of steel supports. Even in cases of extremely corroded supports, after blasting they may still have a shape and size which is comparable to other supports; hence, it is necessary to perform a careful study of the support prior to choosing a method.
